Please note that the high school coaching staff would like to keep the evaluations closed. The goal is to make the sessions feel as much like a normal practice as possible so that the players can relax, do their best, and enjoy playing baseball with each other.
This is a no cut evaluation. Rather, players are evaluated and placed on teams based on their current skill level. Within each grade division, teams are separated by the relative skill level of the players. This separation is necessary to meet the goal of ensuring that all players participate against other players of equal grade and skill.
For the JBO division, players are separated into three distinct levels: National, American and Federal. Generally, the National level is for players with beginning or recreation level skills, the American level is for intermediate skills, and the Federal level is for players with the highest skill level. All JBO levels have the opportunity to compete and qualify for post season state and regional tournaments in addition to regular season play.
We may also form a Babe Ruth team that is typically made up of the higher skilled 14U players. A decision to form a 14U Babe Ruth team is dependent on the skill level of the players in the program. It is not guaranteed that we will form a 14U Babe Ruth team.
Babe Ruth teams play a schedule that is more tournament based, whereas our JBO (Junior Baseball Organization) teams play a mix of games in the Clackamas County Junior Baseball league against teams from the surrounding areas and may also pick up some tournaments on the weekends.
